The Organic Pantry is an Award-winning organic farm, nestled in the Wharfe Valley just outside of Tadcaster. St Helen’s Farm has been traditionally farmed by generations of the Watson family. Concerned about preserving the land and wildlife for future generations, in 1999 Jonnie Watson converted the 300-acres of land over to organic and they have not looked back.

Now growing from seed over 40 varieties of vegetable, cereal and salad crops the Organic Pantry is a thriving business supplying homes and businesses throughout the northeast of England.

Not only do they have their own extensive range of veg, they also have a strong network of local organic suppliers so can offer customers the very best of Yorkshire seasonal produce – all ethically grown to organic standards.

If you are looking for the freshest, seasonal produce that is grown in harmony with our environment, visit the stall or get yourself a doorstep delivery for weeks the market is not operating.

August 2017

We're delighted to have Francesco from Mondo Pizza with his wood fired pizza oven as a guest stall for the first time.

Mario (Gusto Olianas) wont be with us in August as he is at a Food Fayre.

East End Nurseries strawberries have finished for now, so they won't be joining us in August, but they expect to be back with us in October

Mondo Pizza

For his first time with us: Francesco with a wood fired oven and freshly made pizzas.

August's Spotlight is on...Gluten Freekz

My husband Mark was diagnosed as a coeliac 14 years ago and I had become increasingly frustrated with the overwhelming reliance on the high street supermarkets with their limited product range and their over processed offerings.

As a passionate cook and a believer in using locally sourced ingredients I decided to produce my own home baked delights for my husband.

So Glutenfreekz is not only here for people with coeliac disease, it is also here for people who have gluten or wheat intolerance, or for anyone who wishes to follow a gluten free diet for whatever reason.

Rest assured you can eat and enjoy gluten free produce from us as these are all made and handcrafted in my totally gluten free kitchen!

OUR BAKES

We freshly bake on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays. All our ingredients are in their natural state we just make, bake and craft our goodies in our gluten free kitchen!

We lovingly produce a range of delicious recipes.  All our pastry products are made using our own secret recipe which I have been working on for a long time and I hope you agree that I have now perfected it, but as always, I am still looking at ways to improve all the produce and this will be ongoing. They are all traditionally baked for that great authentic taste, including:

  • Corned Beef Pasties (df)
  • Scotch Eggs (df)
  • Chocolate Crunchy Slice
  • Cheese & Caramelised Onion Chutney Tart
  • Lemon Drizzle Cake (df)
  • Sweet mini tarts
  • Chocolate Cake
  • Jam Roly Poly (df)
  • Cheese & Onion Pasties
  • Yorkshire Curd Tart
  • Broccoli & Mushroom Tart
  • And many more…

Please Note:-

(df) on our products means they are also DAIRY FREE!

All our produce are also NUT FREE!

News

As a result of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic we have put a number of measures in place for the August Market to ensure that all our customers, stallholders and volunteers remain safe. For the forseeable future, because of the current social distancing guidelines, we have moved to the grounds of St.Margaret's Church where it should prove easier to ensure a safe shopping experience for our customers, stallholders and volunteers.

You are asked not to attend if you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms, i.e. high temperature, a new continuous cough and/or change in taste or sense of smell.

Everyone attending the market will be asked to comply with social distancing guidelines and we will be operating a one-way system round the stalls, with managed queues to limit the number of customers in the market at any one time.

Household groups are welcome but we ask all households to remain together. We will provide hand sanitiser upon entry to and exit from the market and encourage all customers to use contactless methods of payment where possible. Customers are asked to only touch the stall items that they are definitely going to buy.

We plan to have a total of 18 stalls covering a wide range of products and look forward to welcoming you to our new site at the slightly later starting time of 09:30. Last entry to the market will be 12:30.
